Zappy Zwitterion: Verse-J Breakdown

The first line is supposed to set the tone of the verse. It has 2-3 potential meanings because of the word "Jigsaw." First, I use the actual meaning of the word "Jigsaw" to say how a jovial (cheerful) juvenile judges his jumbled Jigsaw (used in the sense of puzzle here) while trying to complete it. The second meaning is a reference to a Netflix Standup Special by Daniel Sloss named Jigsaw. In this Special, he narrates how his father used a Jigsaw puzzle and compared it with life. We start the puzzle by solving the corners, so the corners are an integral part of our lives and include friends, family, work, etc. As we progress in life, we try to work on the center part of the Jigsaw, and that center part is all about finding a life partner and settling down. Here, he explains why his dad's analogy was wrong because his dad made him think that his life is all about finding someone special to complete his Jigsaw with that person, making him believe that he cannot find complete happiness without that. He later explains that this is what society does too. So, the first line sums it all up, saying that the child is judging his jumbled Jigsaw and questioning his life choices. The third meaning is a reference to the Serial killer Jigsaw from the Saw movie series. His methods include forcing his subjects through deadly scenarios, which he referred to as "games" or "tests," in which they were forced to inflict pain upon themselves or others in order to escape. So, I am saying that this Jigsaw analogy(from the second meaning) planted by society is a test in which we are forced to inflict pain on each other in order to escape.

In the second line, I continue to talk about the Jigsaw analogy differently. Jovian is a term used for something relating to the planet Jupiter or the class of giant planets. The word Joints is sometimes used for prison. So, Jovian joints refer to a giant planet-like prison that traps a person and taunts him/her about how incomplete we are without someone special, comparing it to our jubilation/happiness. Our time in that prison is exhausting(jaded) for the same reason. The second meaning of the line is my vague attempt to present a social message. Jupiter is a gas giant, which triggers the second meaning of the word joints, cigarettes. So, Jovian joints taunt our happiness and make our life miserable, and consuming drugs exhausts us.

In the third line, I continue with the idea of presenting social messages leaving the Jigsaw analogy for the first two lines. Jackal is someone who seeks to gain an advantage or profit from the difficulties of another. So, jinxed Jackals(humans) make rude remarks(jeering) and mock Jacobian jungles by their greedy actions. Jacobian is the determinant of the Jacobian matrix. The matrix will contain all partial derivatives of a vector function. The primary use of Jacobian is found in the transformation of coordinates. So, jungles are Jacobian because they indicate how our system(planet) has transformed. "Jack-als" is also a wordplay on the serial killer Jack the Ripper in which I try to say how humans are ripping off nature.

In the fourth line, I continue the thought/message from the third line. I say Joker's unpleasant(jarred) character mocks(japing) jolly jingles, which is a reference to a Batman episode where Joker sings:

"Jingle bells, Batman smells,

Robin laid an egg!

The Batmobile

Lost a wheel

And Joker got away!"

I compare this with how humans mock nature's harmony by destroying it and using it for selfish reasons. Jarred is also a wordplay as the actor Jared Leto played Joker in Suicide Squad.
